1.
How is The Arbors different than other retirement facilities?
One of the
most exciting advantages of living at The Arbors
is its location in Port Warwick. Life in this
award-winning new neighborhood is filled with
activities and entertainment. And you'll enjoy
the comfort of a secure and luxurious environment
without paying entrance fees.
2.
The Arbors at Port Warwick is called a "Retirement
Lifestyle Community". What exactly does this mean?
Our residents
are empowered by the services offered at The
Arbors to maintain an active lifestyle while
enjoying an affordable and comfortable home in
our apartment community. The Arbors' unique location
in Port Warwick features a multitude of options
for independent seniors, from activities to
shopping and dining.
3. Who owns
The Arbors?
The Arbors
is wholly owned and operated by The Arbors
at Port Warwick LLC and is a division of Virginia
Health Services, Inc., which is headquartered
in Newport News and is guided by a local Board
of Directors.
4. Is it possible
to visit The Arbors?
You and
your family and friends are welcome to visit
The Arbors at any time. We will host special
events from time to time, but you are always
encouraged to stop by our facility. Because
The Arbors is located in Port Warwick, there
is a lot of excitement about the entire surrounding
neighborhood and the special functions such
as concerts on Styron Square right across from
The Arbors.
5. What happens
if my apartment is ready at The Arbors and my current
home has not yet been sold?
We will
work with all residents to assure that in any
situation The Arbors will attempt to resolve
the issue in a mutually beneficial manner.
We realize that one cannot always predict precise
move-in dates when the sale of a home or the
relinquishment of an apartment is an issue.
6. Are meals
included in my Monthly Service Fee?
All monthly
fees include the choice of one meal daily.
Residents will not be required to take just
the dinner or luncheon meal. The meal plan
offers the flexibility to choose the meal (or
meals) desired and still remain within the
one meal per day plan.
--The meal plan will allow residents to use their individual daily meal option
in any of the dining areas, acquire additional meals separately, or have additional
meals added to their plan on a monthly plan basis.
7. If I travel
or am away from home for an extended period, will there
be any adjustments in fees?
There will
be a system of credits for missed meals and/or
extended absences. The adjustment may be a
limited amount, since fixed costs do not change
when a resident is absent.
8. Will The
Arbors provide transportation?
The Arbors
will provide scheduled private transportation
to many different shopping areas on the Peninsula,
as well as to your physicians office
for appointments. Outings to restaurants, malls,
and cultural events are all planned for The
Arbors.

damaged as a result of the pet.

accommodations available for my guests?

Arbors offers "Bed & Breakfast" accommodations
for guests of our residents. The costs are
reasonable and include dining options,
plus use of the common areas of the facility.
These accommodations are also available to
residents who may be in the process of moving

not been designed for the storage of larger
items. Arrangements can be made with local
mini-storage companies located within a short
distance from The Arbors for storage greater
than the space offered in the community.

zones?
